This is a work in progress that is far from complete, but i thought id like to put it out there becuz im running short on ideas.
The picture mainly focusses on the story of The Wall, and the picture was inspired by all the various symbols utilised by all the pink floyd albums i have listened to so far....particularly The Wall, Dark Side of the Moon, Animals and i suppose Wish you were Here....but im not so sure.
the symbols i included so far are obvious:
and they will take many MANY minutes to explain to somebody who isn't already obsessed with the album ( like i am...i seriously analyse the lyrics and look for recurring symbols)
some are from the movie, such as the hammers, the wall itself, face masks, which represent the "disguise"...i assume and i cant be stuffed explaining
my PROBLEM is that this picture is far from complete and there are "empty spaces" so to speak.
What i mean by that is, the picture isn't cluttered enough, which i feel it must be in order to represent the complex and cold world that Pink Finds himself in.
Some ideas ive had so far are:
Syd's Gohill's Boots (dunno what they look like)
Several electric guitars, either hung up on the wall or strewn about and smashed (not decided which).
A Telephone (a recurring symbol in the lyrics of the wall and the movie) which is hanging off the receiver.
i was going to attach a dog to a leash on the Stone in the very middle, but i feel that might be making it TOO obvious, so far im liking just the Collar and Chain (which will be connected to the stone...get it the dogs become "dragged down by the stone").
I might put a bone in there as well.
In the Album, pink calls himself a dog in 'Nobody Home' --> "when im a good dog they somtimes throw me a bone in"
i might throw in a little black book of poems while im at it.
i was also going to have sheep assembling behind the hammers, perhaps being herded by the hammers.
I was thinking if i could somehow attach puppet strings to that pig to make it out to be the "Big man" in control, though i fear this will detract from the attention of the picture...either way the Pig stays floating there. I thought of the raven/bomber cartoon from the movie during "Goodbye Blue sky"....maybe the gas masks etc etc
Maybe some stuff from the movie like the cartoons...such as the screaming face, the wife and flowers, but those will be HAARD to draw. I thought of putting the prism dispersing light from DSOTM.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
